Through The Gian's Mouth

Exhibition text for Chthonic Exhibition (Möte I Tunnel) 2025

The call begins as a tremor in our bodies. A strange and uninvited attraction. A force much greater than ourselves.
The stage cracks:
Here lies a buried giant, whose body is the land on which we walk.

For one reason or another;
grief,
lamentation,
forgetfulness,
heat
or the unbreakable oath,

we have all been commanded to descend into the giant's mouth to retrieve its entrails and bring them to the surface.
We descend through a point of pain. A conduit is set up, and so begins our catabasis.

In the giant's belly, time unfurls.
The passages we visitors walk through twist and turn and fill with corrosive liquid.
This liquid frays the mind and pulls at the threads of our structure.
We are lured towards a radiant thorn.
Time here is counted.

What is returned to the surface are instruments.
Signs from the giant’s interior that resonate deep within each person's body.

Experts disagree on whether it is funny or not.
